Smile Direct Club: First Impressions

Did you know that your teeth never stop moving? I noticed my teeth slowly getting worse the past few years and finally decided to do something about it. I officially aged out of my insurance coverage for braces so I did some research about which company I should work with to help straighten my smile.

Smile Direct Club was my number one choice from the beginning, but I continued looking at other companies to compare things such as typical length of time, experience, and of course cost.
Without going into detail about my search, Smile Direct Club definitely checked all my boxes and I could get started right away.

So, I signed up online to go to an in-person appointment to have smile mapping completed instead of the typical at-home cast-kit they send you to make your molds. I opted for the in-person appointment to actually speak with a representative and learn more about the process, and because I didn’t want to mess up the cast (lol).

I’m so glad I went in person because I learned so much, was able to see my scans as they were being made and picked up some perks while I was there! I was given a tote bag of chapstick, a whitening pen and light, and a $25 amazon gift card! So, if you get the chance or have a Smile Shop near you, I definitely recommend going in person.

Here are my scans, they were really cool, and the whole appointment took less than 30 minutes!

The next thing I got a lot of questions on is their price. They have two payment options available:

  1. Pay in full at the time of the appointment (this is what I opted for). You save a little bit of money by paying at once, the total amount is $1895.

  1. Pay $85 a month for 2 years. This does not mean your treatment will last two years (typical time is about 6 months), but it gives you more time for payments. The total amount for this option is (if I can use a calculator correctly) $2040.

They also gave me a $100 off link for y’all to use if you choose to try them out! I just started the whole process, and don’t even have my aligners yet, but I will leave that here for anyone who is anxious to get started on their smile journey!

I will keep y’all updated as the process continues, but if you have any questions feel free to leave them below and I’ll do my best to answer them.
